As the season finished this week there was no relaxation for Colley WMC No.1, already confirmed as A division champions. They beat Central Snooker Club 4-1 just so they did not get out of the winning habit. They may well need it as their second team’s 4-1 victory over Plaza No.3 in D division gave them that title and the two teams are drawn against each other in the first round of the Star Cup, the divisional champions play off. The one point Central earned was just saved them from relegation.

B division produced the most dramatic finish with Plaza Green snatching the title from Cueball Four No.2 on the last day of the season after Cueball had lead that division throughout the season. Their 4-1 win against Club Baize No.1 was enough to gain them the two points they needed to make up as Cueball went down 3-2 at Dronfield Contact. Sheffield Transport No.1 will join them in A division next season as the form team closing in on the above two teams over the past weeks, this week a 4-1 win at Spot On No.1 put them just a point short of them for a higher finish.

Allied Snooker Centre No.1, already champions of C division went down 3-2 to Rileys No.1 who join them in promotion in third place, while 147 Snooker Club No.3 held on to second place with a 3-2 win at Handsworth WMC. However, the second and third issue was effectively decided last week when the 147 took the two points they needed off Rileys.

Eckington Snooker Centre No.4 had an outside chance of taking the E division title, needing all five points off leaders Club Baize No.2. It proved too much of a challenge and Club Baize took the match 3-2 and the title. They are joined by Staffordshire Arms No.2 who beat Earl Old Boys for third place.

In F division Spot On No.3 held on to top place, a position they have held for most of the season, ensuring it with a 4-1 win over Sheffield Transport No.2. Hillsborough Dial won 3-2 at Sheffield Deaf but it was not enough to complete their recent challenge. Hillsborough Dial join them in moving up.

David Birley’s 128 break stood as the highest break this season in the league for the Barker Billiards Break prize. The best effort to beat it the final week was made by Sam Thistlewhite with 86. Other good breaks were made by Mick Stretch with 74, Martin Finnigan 56, David Allender 51, Mick Jarvis 38 and Duane Beckett 36
